Korea House (한국관)

"It’s a large restaurant located in Riccarton Centre, with plenty of parking available nearby, including off-street options. There were many Korean diners when we visited, which suggests it's a popular spot within the Korean community and it is always a good sign! We really enjoyed the side dishes, and the kimchi soup was absolutely delicious. The portion size was generous, more than enough for us. I would love to come back and try some of the other dishes on the menu."

"Very delicious Korean food. We enjoyed dinner here three days in a row. The beef bulgogi is absolutely amazing and the stir fried pork is also great. We also tried the really good chicken. A very nice addon is, that you get the classic side dishes and they refill those. Friendly staff and lightning quick in getting the meal ready."

"A pretty secluded spot for this Korean hideout, and we were lucky to grab a table for two when we walked in as a group behind us were turned away due to seemingly max capacity.  got tempted to order the fried chicken after the staff recommended us to get fried chicken so that we get 2 for 1 beer - and the chicken turned out to be pretty good, with some resemblance of KFC meat but better  the pork bone soup (gamja-tang) was comforting, not overly flavourful but letting it shine, there’s not much meat on the pork bone as expected  the seafood pancake was visibly lacking seafood, it was weirdly overloaded with cabbage instead  the pork belly and squid stir fry was my favourite among the dishes we ordered as it was flavourful - with the squid umami really shining through. Overall a good spot for korean food though it’s a little secluded."

"Absolutely loved dining here and can't wait to go back! Every staff member that served us was lovely and welcoming, told us to take our time and came to check multiple times that everything was going well. We were situated in a semi private part of the restaurant with screens seperating us from the rest of the restaurant which really made our experience better! The food was incredible! Truely authentic Korean, we got two different flavours of fried chicken, fried dumplings, bugolgi and pork belly plus the side dishes, our table was absolutely full with food for about $99. There was nothing I didn't enjoy, everything was flavoured amazingly and we finished off every dish! Great portion sizes too! Will be recommending this to everyone I know and can't wait to come back myself! Thank you to all the staff for this awesome Valentine's experience!"

"We visited Korea House without a booking and were told there would be about a 10-minute wait. To our surprise, within minutes our table was ready. The staff quickly cleaned and prepared it for us, which we really appreciated. Once seated, we had time to look through the menu, placed our order, and the food arrived very quickly. Everything was absolutely delicious. We ordered Boneless Original Chicken, Tteokbokki, Spicy Stir Fry Squid, Seafood Spicy Soft Tofu Stew, 2 bowls of Rice, along with a few free condiments like kimchi etc — all full of flavour and very satisfying. The staff were genuinely friendly, and the prices were very affordable. Overall, a great dining experience. We’ll definitely be back when we're in Christchurch."
